The previously announced Kengan Ashura Season 2 was supposed to be released in 2023. The anime is a Netflix original and will be streamed exclusively on the platform. No further information has been revealed so far. The anime celebrated its worldwide premiere on Netflix in July 2019. The second part of the anime, consisting of episodes 13 to 24, was released on Netflix in October.

The anime is based on the manga Kengan Ashura, written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon. The manga ran from 2012 to 2018 in Shogakukan's Ura Sunday magazine. A sequel, Kengan Omega, by the same author/artist duo, began in 2019.
