The anime "Kijin Gentosho" will air on June 27 with a one-hour special on TOKYO MX, MBS, and BS Fuji. Alongside the broadcast date, additional cast members and a key visual were revealed.

"Kijin Gentosho" is a Japanese historical fantasy series that follows the journey of an onigami (demon) over a span of 170 years. The story takes place in the mountain village of Kadono, where Jinta, a guardian who protects the shrine maiden Itsukihime and wards off supernatural threats, encounters a mysterious oni who speaks of a distant future.

New additions to the cast include Hiroshi Shirokuma as Doka no Oni, an oni who opposes Jinta, and Yui Kondo as Toomi no Kijo, a female oni who accompanies Doka no Oni. Both Shirokuma and Kondo shared their thoughts on their roles after the announcement.

The key visual depicts Jinta holding a sword, surrounded by his sister Suzune, the shrine maiden Shirayuki, Doka no Oni, and Toomi no Kijo.

The anime adaptation, based on the novel by Motoo Nakanishi, was directed by Kazuya Aiura and written by Deko Akao. The character designs were handled by Tarou Ikegami, known for his work on "Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal." The voice cast includes Taku Yashiro as Jinta, Reina Ueda as Suzune, and Saori Hayami as Shirayuki. The animation is produced by Yokohama Animation Lab, known for "Magatsu Wahrheit - ZUERST."
