For the upcoming anime series "Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai" (roughly translated as "I Want to Love You Until You Die"), the plot and a first preview of Episode 1 have been released. The series is based on the manga of the same name by Aono Nachi, which has been serialized in the magazine "Comic Yuri Hime" (Ichijinsha) since 2018 and has now reached a circulation of over 600,000 copies.

The story is set in a facility that trains homeless children as magical weapons of war. The 14-year-old protagonist Totsuki Sheena lives in this orphanage and is tired of the death of a roommate being treated as an everyday occurrence. One night, she encounters the suddenly appearing, blood-soaked figure of the girl Kagari Mimi – an encounter that will change everything.

The first episode is titled "Kiss" and will premiere on Japanese television on July 7, 2026. It will air at 9:30 PM on AT-X and at 12:30 AM on TOKYO MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11. Starting July 14, the series will also be shown on WOWOW. Simultaneously with the TV premiere, streaming services d Anime Store, U-NEXT, and Anime Hodai will begin releasing it at midnight; other platforms will follow on July 10.

Singer ReoNa is responsible for the music, contributing the opening title "Amore." The CD will be released in three editions – including a limited edition with a cover specially drawn by Aono Nachi. The regular and period-limited editions also include a bonus Blu-ray with a music video version compiled from animated rough sketches.

The animation series is being directed by Yasushi Tomota at Studio ROLL2. The script and series composition are handled by experienced writer Jukki Hanada ("Love Live!"). The character design is by Kyoko Yufu. The high-profile cast includes Rie Takahashi as Sheena, Rina Hidaka as Mimi, Asami Seto as Lizzy Sieran, Yui Ishikawa as Mode Ari, Yumi Uchiyama as Fran, and Ai Kayano as Omi.

"Kimi ga Shinu made Koi wo Shitai" combines dark fantasy elements with girls' love romance and portrays the harsh daily life of young girls trained to kill, yet still preserving their own humanity and longing. The manga, initially published in the print magazine and later on the platform "Ichijin Plus," has a loyal fanbase both in Japan and internationally and ranks high in various Yuri rankings.
