Kinema Citrus Presents "Goodbye, Lara" for July

The production company Kinema Citrus is enriching its work for its one-and-a-half-decade-long existence with an independent series development. The plot of "Goodbye, Lara" begins two hundred years ago, when the mermaid Lara crumbled into foam due to a forbidden affection. In the present day, she returns in Lake Biwa.

Rica Fukami has been hired to discuss the role of Grace. Grace is the sorceress who once gave Lara her human form. She now lives in the city of Otsu in Shiga Prefecture and resides there in fish form with the boxing high school student Mari Otsu, after being banished from the mermaid world.

Ayumu Murase lends his voice to the boy Luca, whom Lara meets in Shiga. The outward appearance of this boy bears a clear resemblance to the prince with whom Lara fell in love centuries ago. Initial visual depictions of both Grace and Luca now exist.

The recently released promotional video, supervised by Takashi Koide, shows the first meeting of Lara and Mari. Furthermore, it provides insights into events from Lara's past days. The film contains everyday exchanges between the two main characters and presents views of the landscape of Shiga.

The other main roles are voiced by Hana Hishikawa as Lara and Nana Kawaishi as Mari Otsu.
