As a tribute to its 40th anniversary, the popular Kinnikuman franchise is set to begin a new chapter with an upcoming anime series titled "Kinnikuman Kanpeki Chōjin Shiso-hen." The series, produced by the esteemed studio Production I.G., will offer a visual interpretation of the "Perfect Superhuman Origin Arc" and continue the narrative from previously adapted material.

The anime will be directed by Sato Yo, while Makoto Fukami will oversee the series composition. Hirotaka Marufuji will design the characters, and Yasuharu Takanashi.

The original Kinnikuman story, conceived by the duo Shimada Takashi and Nakai Yoshinori, collectively known as Yudetamago, first appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1979. The series revolves around Kinnikuman, a clumsy superhuman from the planet Kinniku, who evolves into the most fearsome warrior in the world of superhuman battles. The franchise has continued in various other publications, and the 83rd volume of the manga was just released today, September 29, in Japan.
