“Kinoko Inu” anime announces new trailer and theme song

The second main promotional video for the TV anime adaptation of "Kinoko Inu," based on the work by Aosei Kimama, has been released, along with details about the opening theme artist and the premiere date.

The new trailer, which was shown at the premium screening and talk show for "Kinoko Inu" at Shinjuku Piccadilly in Tokyo, begins with scenes from the time before the protagonist Hotaru, a picture book artist, meets Kinoko Inu. The story follows Hotaru, who is grieving the loss of her beloved dog but gradually begins to smile again through her life with Kinoko Inu. The opening song "Kinoko Inu" by HY references the mysterious creature both in its title and lyrics, and a portion of it can be heard in the new trailer.

The anime will begin airing and streaming on Prime Video starting October 3.

"Kinoko Inu" is a heartwarming comedy about the daily life of Hotaru, a painter, and her mysterious dog-like companion Kinoko Inu. The main cast includes Daiki Kobayashi as Kinoko Inu and Yuto Uemura as Hotaru.
