The anime Kizumonogatari is making a comeback in a new format, as announced at the Aniplex Online Fest 2023. Originally released as a trilogy of films, the series will be compiled into a single movie titled "Kizumonogatari: Koyomi Vamp," set to release in Japan on January 12, 2024.

The original films—released as "Kizumonogatari Part 1: Tekketsu," "Kizumonogatari Part 2: Nekketsu," and "Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu"—were directed by Tatsuya Oishi and produced by anime studio SHAFT. Akiyuki Simbo from the studio served as chief director, while the character designs were a collaboration between Akio Watanabe and Hideyuki Morioka. Yota Tsuruoka, responsible for sound design, and Satoru Kousaki, who composed the music, also made significant contributions.

The story of Kizumonogatari is an adaptation of the third volume of NisiOisin's Monogatari novel series and serves as a prequel to Bakemonogatari. The plot revolves around the protagonist Koyomi, chronicling his encounter with a female vampire that changes his life, followed by his struggle to regain his original, non-vampiric state.
