The series "Knights of the Zodiac: Saint Seiya" gets a new season entitled "Battle for Sanctuary". A trailer and key visual were unveiled, and Crunchyroll announced it will be streaming the series worldwide later this summer in July.

The first part, consisting of the first six episodes, premiered worldwide in July 2019. The anime's first 12-episode season covers the story from the Galaxian Wars to the manga's Silver Saints arcs.

The young warriors who protect the goddess Athena are known as the Knights of the Zodiac. A young orphan, Seiya, is destined to become the Pegasus Knight. Athena was reborn into this world, but this time under a dark prophecy that she will lose the war against Poseidon and Hades and lead mankind to perdition. Seiya opposes the prophecy and wants to protect her at all costs. But now a god-killing arrow has struck her heart. To save her life, Seiya must scale the Sanctuary and defeat twelve legendary golden knights - and he only has twelve hours to do it. Will he make it? And what will happen to the dark prophecy if he succeeds?
