Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine of Shogakukan has announced their 14the issue of the year on Monday. In this issue, they revealed about the television animation adaptation of manga series Koi wa Ameagari no You ni. It is the manga of Mayuzuki. The magazine has also announced about the premiering time of the animation which is in January 2018. The anime will release on the television channel Fuji TV and other channels. Weekly Big Comic Spirit has also informed that the manga has crossed 1.5 million copies in print.
The manga story revolves around a 17-year-old teenage high school girl, her name is Akira Tachibana. Akira isn't able to express herself, and she has a secret crush on Masami Kondo, a 45-year-old restaurant manager.
The manga was launched in 2014 by Mayuzuki in Monthly Big Comic Spirit, and in 2016, it started publishing through Weekly Big Comic Spirit. After started releasing by Weekly Big Comic Spirit, it had been released a new chapter every week. In October, sixth collected book volume was published by Shogakukan, and the seventh volume is planning to release on 10th March.
In 2016, the manga was nominated for Manga Taisho award. It was also listed at the 4th number by Kono Manga ga Sugoi! in 2016.
