Kazuma tries to relieve his stress by inflating and popping bubble wrap. Meanwhile, Megumin and Aqua attempt to stop Lord Aldarp’s wedding in various ways, but their actions only anger the Dustiness family. Megumin ends up in jail for three days for essentially making a bomb threat. She fumes at Kazuma’s stubborn refusal to do anything unless Darkness asks him for help.

Despite Kazuma’s warnings that Megumin might become a criminal, she refuses to give up. When Megumin asks how he can be so indifferent to their friend’s fate, Kazuma’s façade cracks. He admits that Darkness means a great deal to him but explains that this is a high-society wedding with strict security, leaving no easy way to intervene. Kazuma cherishes the time they’ve spent with Darkness and considers it a miracle, given her higher social status.

On the day of the wedding, Kazuma receives an unexpected visit from Vanir, who brings a suitcase full of gold. Vanir, the All-Seeing Demon, understands Kazuma’s dilemma and what he wants to do. Before Vanir can provide answers, Aqua interrupts him with a holy spell and starts berating him. After Aqua calms down, Vanir reveals that the Dustiness family’s debt stems from collateral damage caused by the Mobile Fortress Destroyer incident. Although Kazuma’s group paid for some of the damages, the Dustiness family shouldered the majority, leading to their financial troubles.

Vanir offers to buy all of Kazuma’s inventions, including an apple slicer and a Jenga tower, in exchange for the gold. Combined with Kazuma’s remaining assets, this should be enough to cover the Dustiness family’s debt.

As Darkness prepares for the wedding, kind maids and a butler keep Aldarp at bay. She reflects on how her friends would react to her debt and resigns herself to the fact that Kazuma won’t come—instead, he’ll just sulk in their shared mansion. Darkness treasures the time she’s spent with her friends and considers it too selfish to ask for more.

During the ceremony, the disguised priestess—revealed to be Aqua—begins insulting Aldarp. Kazuma, posing as one of the officials, takes Darkness’s hand and reveals himself. He has come to her rescue and whisks her away from the altar.
