The anime adaptation of Minoru Toyoda's manga "Kore Kaite Shine" has a new addition to its voice cast: Anna Nagase takes on the role of doujin artist Ruu Garu. The character is the same age as protagonist Ai Yasumi and is introduced in the sixth episode, when the members of the Oshima Minami High School manga club exhibit for the first time at the indie comic market Comitia.

Ruu Garu, a pseudonym, is a doujin artist from Shichijojima Island. In the episode titled "Comitia – Let's Draw Even More Interesting Manga!" the club members travel in matching T-shirts to their first Comitia. While teacher Rei Teshima and Sachi Akafuku explore the grounds, Ai and Kokoro Fujimori nervously begin selling their self-produced booklets at their own booth. During her walk around, Teshima recalls the day she herself presented a work here for the first time. As sales start off slowly, tension grows for Ai and Fujimori – until Ai encounters Ruu Garu.

Nagase describes her character as a girl who carries a burning passion within her and whose eyes always sparkle with energy. During the first recording sessions, she was impressed by the atmosphere in the studio, where the love and brilliance of all the characters and voice actresses were palpable. Working on the role brought her great joy, and she is curious to see what Ruu Garu will experience as the series continues.

The series has been airing since July 3, 2026, on Fridays in the "Furaani" block on Nippon TV as well as on AT-X; the sixth episode will air on August 7 at 11:35 PM. In parallel, the title is available on platforms such as Lemino and Crunchyroll. The first season is planned for twelve episodes. Direction is by Hiroaki Akagi, who previously directed "The Dangers in My Heart"; the series is produced by Studio Shin-Ei Animation, with music by Hiroaki Tsutsumi. The opening theme "Isho" is by Tatsuya Kitani, and the ending theme "Conifer" is by the band Regal Lily.

The original work by Minoru Toyoda has been serialized in the magazine Gessan (Monthly Shonen Sunday) since November 2021 and has won the Manga Taisho 2023 as well as the 70th Shogakukan Manga Award; ten volumes have been released in Japan so far. Alongside Akira Sekine as Ai Yasumi, the voice cast includes Saori Hayami, Saya Hitomi, Kanon Fujimura, Inori Minase, Noriko Hidaka, Atsumi Tanezaki, Yukana, and Kikuko Inoue.
