Kōri no Jōheki – The Ice Wall: Anime adaptation for 2026 announced

The anime production of the series Kōri no Jōheki (English: The Ice Wall) by author Kōcha Agasawa has been announced for April 2026. A first visual teaser, a preliminary video, as well as details about the cast and production are available.

The plot of the youth story focuses on the high school student Koyuki Hikawa, who, due to her reserved nature and distant aura, is secretly called the "Queen". She has difficulties dealing with people and spends her time mostly alone or with her childhood friend Miki Azumi. Her routine changes when the sociable Minato Amamiya shows himself to be open towards her and the quiet Yōta Hino joins them.

The released key visual shows the four main characters Koyuki, Miki, Minato, and Yōta. The teaser video begins with the introverted Koyuki, who is perceived as frightening by others, and then introduces the other characters.

The voice cast includes Anna Nagase as Koyuki, Fūka Izumi as Miki, Shōya Chiba as Minato, and Keishi Inomata as Yōta. Their voices can be heard in the teaser video. The production direction is handled by Mankyū, while the animation is produced by Studio KAI.
