Shortly after, Reinald suffers a nosebleed collapse, accompanied by mysterious symptoms suggesting a curse.

In London, Ciel Phantomhive prepares for a mission to Germany after Queen Victoria tasks him with investigating mysterious deaths. The victims died after visiting the "Werewolf Forest" from deforming symptoms that locals attribute to a witch's curse. Ciel's contact Chlaus reports legends about witches and werewolves living in the forest, as well as a surviving witness who went mad.

Ciel travels with his servants to the southern German village near the Werewolf Forest. Despite warnings and rejection by the locals, the group gains access to the secluded village in the forest, whose inhabitants, dressed in antiquated clothing, react with deep distrust. They meet the young leader Sieglinde Sullivan and her companion Wolfram, who reluctantly allow them to stay overnight in the "Emerald Castle." The castle turns out to be a place with a dark history: torture devices from witch trials hint at a connection to historical persecutions.

The episode ends with the group preparing for further investigations, while the villagers and Sullivan's ambivalent attitude raise questions about their motives and the true nature of the "curse."
