Sunrise Beyond recently announced in collaboration with Bandai Spirits the upcoming release of a new installment in their AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline project. The latest work, titled "Kyōkai Senki Kyokkō no Sōki," is set to premiere on August 10 on the Bandai Spirits YouTube channel. The anime will consist of six episodes, with new episodes becoming available every two weeks on Thursdays.
The opening theme, "Yobu Koe ga Naru Hōgaku e" (Toward the Direction that the Calling Voice Echoes), will be performed by Organic Call, while the ending theme, "I'll Be There," will be provided by Linkl Planet.
The anime will feature Shinichiro Miki, Shōya Chiba, Risa Tsumugi, and Katsuyuki Konishi in the roles of Jin Misawa, Ibuki Chinen, I-LeS Yamapi, and Grady Ellison, respectively.
The story is set in the year 2061 and depicts a version of Japan that has been occupied by multiple nations and consolidated under the control of four trade blocs. Amid a conflict-ridden landscape, the Japanese people endure constant occupation and oppression, enforced by the patrolling humanoid war machines known as AMAIM. The narrative follows Amō Shiiba, a young, introverted boy who encounters the autonomous AI Gai and acquires the AMAIM Kenbu, setting him on a path to reclaim Japan. In parallel, it follows Gashin Tezuka, a reserved 16-year-old resistance fighter who uses the AMAIM Ghost to seek vengeance for his father.
