The official website for the anime adaptation of Haruki Kuō's Liar Liar light novel series recently revealed the anime's key visual, additional cast members, and broadcast information. Among the newly announced voice actors are Jun Fukuyama as Seiran Kugasaki, Sora Tokui as Suzuran Kazami, Junya Enoki as Shinji Enomoto, and Saori Ōnishi as Nanase Asamiya. They join previously announced cast members such as Genta Nakamura, Yukina Shutō, Wakana Kuramochi, Rika Tachibana, and others.
The anime will premiere in July. The story of Liar Liar, described as an "academy x psychological game x romantic comedy," is set on an academic island where students compete for the top ranks. The protagonist, Hiroto Shinohara, achieves the highest score ever recorded on the school's entrance exam and quickly rises to the top, only to realize that it was all a lie. Now, with the help of Shirayuki Himeji and Sarasa Saionji—who also aren't who they claim to be—he must navigate the school's psychological games.
Geek Toys' Satoru Ōno and Naoki Matsuura are directing the anime, with Momoka Toyoda handling series composition and Yumi Nakamura in charge of character design. The team also includes Yasuya Yuki as color key artist, Ji Woo Park as art director, Baek Ryun Chae as technical director, Keisuke Yanagi as editor, and Ryousuke Naya as sound director. The music is composed by Kuniyuki Takahashi and Keiichi Hirokawa of MONACA, with MONACA CyberAgent serving as music producer.
Kadokawa's MF Bunko imprint has published the light novel series, and the 13th volume will be released on March 25.
