Light Novel Game ni Ueteiru Gets TV Anime Adaptation

The publishing company Kadokawa began streaming a new promotional video for Kei Sazane's light novel series Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru (God's Game We Play or literally: God Is Hungry for Games) on Friday. The video reveals that an anime adaptation of the novels is in the works. The novel series, illustrated by Toiro Tomose, has been published by KADOKAWA/Media Factory's light novel imprint MF Bunko J since January 2021.



Kadokawa describes the first volume of the series as follows:

The ultimate mind game, "Game of the Gods," was created by supreme deities who had too much time on their hands. The first thing Rhese, a former goddess who awoke from her long slumber, declared was, "Bring me the best player of this era!" Fei, a boy hailed as "the best rookie in recent years," was nominated. The "Game of the Gods" that challenges them is so difficult that no one in human history has ever fully conquered it. The gods are capricious, unreasonable, and sometimes incomprehensible—and that’s precisely why it’d be a waste not to play it with all your heart!
