Comic Earth Star has officially confirmed via Twitter that the novel series "Mushoku no Eiyū: Betsu ni Skill Nanka Iranakattan da ga" (The Unemployed Hero Doesn’t Need Skills) by Shichio Kuzu and illustrator Yumehito Ueda will be adapted into a TV anime.

The story first appeared in November 2017 on the online platform "Shōsetsuka ni Narou." Shortly after, in July 2018, Earth Star Entertainment took over the publication of the novels. The fourth volume of the series was released in June 2019. In addition to the novels, a manga adaptation by Akio Nanae was serialized in Comic Earth Star Magazine starting November 2018. The manga series has produced six volumes so far, with the seventh volume scheduled for release on October 12.
