Live-Action Film "Blue Lock": Trailer Shows Fierce Battle of Team Z vs. Team V – Mei Hata as Anri Teieri

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming live-action film "Blue Lock," focusing on the gripping competition between Team Z and Team V. At the same time, it was announced that the role of Anri Teieri will be played by Mei Hata. The film is based on the manga series of the same name by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura and is scheduled to be released in Japanese theaters on August 7, 2026.

In the story, Anri Teieri is a new employee of the Japan Football Association. She is the right hand of Jinpachi Ego, the head director of the "Blue Lock" project, and played a key role in its establishment. Her mission is to realize the dream of a World Cup victory for the Japanese national team. Mei Hata commented on her role, saying: "Anri, whom I play, spends a lot of time with Jinpachi Ego (played by Masataka Kubota). By working with him on set, I was able to learn a lot about acting."

Producer Shinzō Matsuhashi added: "Just because Anri Teieri is cute, you shouldn't underestimate her. After all, she is the driving force behind inviting Jinpachi Ego and establishing the Blue Lock project."

The new trailer shows the merciless games between the two teams. It focuses on the survival battle of Team Z, led by Yoichi Isagi (played by Fumiya Takahashi), against the supposedly invincible Team V. Among other things, new gameplay scenes of Meguru Bachira (Kaito Sakurai), Hyoma Chigiri (Kyōhei Takahashi), and Team V's star player Seishirō Nagi (K) are shown.

Other main roles in the live-action adaptation directed by Yūsuke Taki (screenplay: Tetsuo Kamata) include Kōta Nomura as Rensuke Kunigami and Keito Tsuna as Reo Mikage. The film is produced by CREDEUS and distributed by Toho.
