"Love Live! Sunshine!!'s Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror-" premiered the anime series on July 2nd

The next installment of the popular "Love Live!" franchise will be released this summer in anime form. The series, based on the "Love Live! Sunshine!!'s Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror-" magazine illustration series, has set its premiere date for July 2.



The plot promises a new perspective on the world of "Love Live!" We follow Yoshiko Tsushima, who was traditionally portrayed as a school idol with grand delusions of grandeur and is now reimagined as a fortune teller. The story is set in Numazu, a picturesque coastal town that serves as the backdrop for Yohane's journey. Yohane, the girl who has always felt distant from her peers, is searching for the true meaning of her life.

Asami Nakatani directs this ambitious project under the banner of Sunrise. The series' scripts are overseen by Toshiya Ono, while Yumiko Yamamoto is in charge of character design. Tatsuya Katō, known for his previous work on "Love Live! Sunshine!!," will provide the music for the series.

The concept of "Love Live! Sunshine!'s Genjitsu no Yohane -Sunshine in the Mirror-" was developed by Sakurako Kimino and originates from an illustration series by Taira Akitsu. It has been serialized in "Love Live! Days Love Live! Sōgō Magazine" since October 2020.
