Lupin III: Main motif for animated short film revealed

For the published animation work "LUPIN THE IIIRD: Zenigata and Two Lupins" (original title: 銭形と2人のルパン), which is based on the ideas of Monkey Punch, the central promotional image was recently revealed. At the center of this motif is Inspector Zenigata, whose serious gaze and commanding posture immediately draw the viewer's attention. In the background, three other figures are arranged, complementing the image visually and thematically: a pensive-looking Arsène Lupin III, an antagonist with a challenging smile, and an agent of the Soviet security service, seen during a pursuit. The color scheme of the promotional image is characterized by a dark and subdued palette, emphasizing the melancholic and intense mood of the story.

The work serves as a prequel to the upcoming theatrical film "LUPIN THE IIIRD THE MOVIE: Undying Bloodline" (不死身の血族), whose premiere is scheduled for June 27. In the plot, the audience follows Inspector Zenigata as he tracks the trail of a Lupin doppelgänger. This individual is suspected of being responsible for a series of bombings, and Zenigata's pursuit of him forms the central theme of the tension-filled narrative.
