Machine-Doll Marie: New Information on the Anime Adaptation

The anime adaptation of the story "Kikai Jikake no Marie" (Marie of the Machine) has announced further production details. The plot is based on the original work by Akioto Aki and tells the story of Arthur, the heir to a large financial empire, and Marie, a former martial arts champion with limited facial expression, who begins working as a robot maid at his estate.

The narrative combines elements of a love story with comedic moments. Arthur is portrayed as a reclusive character, while Marie must conceal her true identity as a human. The dynamic relationship between the two forms the core of the plot.

In addition to the already known voice actors, further roles have been cast:

- Bridget, a classmate of Marie and president of the Arthur fan club, is voiced by Saima Nakano.

- Isabella, who considers herself Arthur's fiancée and is dismissive of Marie, receives her voice through Yō Taichi.

- The role of Toby, an older classmate of Marie, is played by Shuntarō Hara.

- Uncle Carl, the only relative who treats Arthur with kindness, is portrayed by Kappei Yamaguchi.

- His wife Aunt Charlotte receives her voice through Rieko Takahashi.

A second promotional trailer offers insights into the visual design of the production and shows the various characters in their interactions. The musical contribution for the opening sequence titled "Honto Tōso" comes from the artist Harucha.

The series combines mechanical elements with interpersonal relationships and creates a narrative that deals with questions of identity and social expectations.
