The well-known manga series "Magic Knight Rayearth" from the pen of the artist group CLAMP will receive a new animation adaptation. The project was initiated on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the original television series.

The story follows the three main characters Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuzaki and Fuu Hououji on their journey to the fantastic world Cephiro. The characteristic Tokyo Tower silhouette plays a special role as a connecting element between the worlds.

The original was first published between 1993 and 1995 in a manga magazine. The animation version at that time was created in the 1990s and developed into an internationally known work.

A first visual insight was published for the announcement of the new production. The image motif shows the three protagonists in front of the distinctive skyline of the Japanese capital.
