Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS: Gun Blaze Vengeance starts in the summer

A new anime television series from the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise has been announced for a July start. The series bears the subtitle EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance.

The plot introduces new main characters. At the center is high school student Shiina Kunase, voiced by Akisa Tachibana, who lives on a remote island and fights dangerous creatures. Her younger sister Setsuna, portrayed by Rina Hidaka, as well as the mysterious Towaya Yomi, voiced by Asaki Yūkawa, who acts as a kind of magical authority, are further protagonists. Additional voice roles are cast with, among others, Chiharu, Aika Kobayashi, Ayasa Itō, and Haruna Aoki.

A new still image and first moving glimpses into the production have been released. The still image shows Towaya Yomi and other enigmatic girl-like figures in a dark ruin environment. The released clip outlines the plot, which ties into the events of the two-part film series. A narrative voice in the video is spoken by Mayuko Kazama.

The series is based on an original concept and screenplay by Masaki Tsuzuki. The direction is handled by Takayuki Hamana. The character design comes from Kazunari Niigaki, based on original designs by Shuichi Kawakami. The animation production is tasked to the studio Seven Arcs.
