Mamekichi Mameko NEET no Nichijō is an autobiographical essay manga that follows the life of Mamekichi, a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), who spends his time with a dog named Komachi and three cats, Tabi, Simba, and Melo. The anime adaptation will feature the return of the original cast and staff.
The first season of the anime aired in October 2022 as part of Fuji TV's Pop UP! programming block. However, the block ended in December 2022. The second half of the first season then aired on January 11 as part of Fuji TV's new Poka Poka programming block. Fans can expect new episodes every Monday and Wednesday, with a one-week streaming window on YouTube, FOD, TVer, and GYAO! services in Japan.
Satoshi Kuwabara directs at Tezuka Productions, Wataru Chihara designs the characters, and Makoto Nagao is in charge of sub-character designs. The manga also inspired a live-action miniseries adaptation, which debuted in 2021.
