Studio Chizu has revealed the international trailer with English subtitles for the new anime film Belle (Ryū to Sobakasu no Hime, literally "The Dragon and the Freckled Princess") from the studio. The theatrical release in Japan is set for July 16.

Chizu describes the story as follows:

Our protagonist, Suzu, is a 17-year-old high school girl living in the countryside of Kochi Prefecture with her father after losing her mother at a young age.

She loved singing with her mother more than anything else, but after her mother's death, she could no longer bring herself to sing.

Before long, she and her father grew increasingly distant, and Suzu closed her heart off from the rest of the world.

Just as Suzu feels that writing music is her only purpose in life, she discovers the vast online space known as "U," where she takes on the persona of Belle.

Suzu quickly realizes that in "U," as her avatar Belle, she can sing completely naturally. When she shares her own music in the virtual world, she swiftly becomes the rising star of "U."
