Akihiro Ononaka's popular manga Gushing Over Magical Girls (Mahō Shōjo ni Akogarete) is getting a TV anime adaptation, as announced in the ninth volume of the manga. Ononaka celebrated this announcement with a commemorative volume.

The manga tells the story of Hiiragi Utena, an ordinary middle school girl who loves magical girls. Her life changes when a talking mascot suddenly appears and casts a spell on her, allowing her to join her favorite magical girls as a villain. But there's a twist—her outfit is completely wrong! The story follows Utena as she transforms from a shy magical girl fan into a sadistic dominatrix and explores the battle between good and evil.

Ononaka began serializing Gushing Over Magical Girls in 2019 in Takeshobo's Manga Life Storia magazine. When the magazine was discontinued, the manga moved to the Storia Dash website. Manga fans can now look forward to seeing their favorite characters come to life on the small screen.
