This year's combined issue 32 and 33 of Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits Magazine announces that the manga Isekai Shikkaku (No Longer Human...In Another World) will be adapted into a TV anime series. Takahiro Wakamatsu, the manga's artist, celebrated the announcement with a commemorative illustration.

Hiroshi Noda and Takahiro Wakamatsu, who also publish the manga Koi wa sekai seifuku no ato de, have been writing and illustrating this dark fantasy comedy with supernatural elements since October 2019 in Shogakukan's web manga Yawaraka Spirits, which has so far been compiled into 7 volumes.

Seven Seas describes the story as follows:

A second life in another world with cute girls by your side and video game powers—sounds like a dream, right? Not for a certain melancholic author who would literally rather drop dead. Honestly, all these fantastical adventures just get in the way of his poetic dream of finding the perfect place to die. But no matter how much he risks his life, everything always seems to turn out fine. Will our incurably depressed hero find a new life in this cheerfully dark isekai comedy?
