Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hōgen Sugite Tsurai Sugiru manga is getting an anime adaptation

Egumi Sora's manga "Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hōgen Sugite Tsurasugiru" (The Girl I Fell for in Okinawa's Dialect Is Too Hard to Handle) is set to receive a TV anime adaptation. As announced by the manga's official Twitter account, the reveal was accompanied by an illustration from Sora celebrating this significant milestone.

The manga's story, classified as a romantic comedy, follows the life of Teruaki Nakamura. After being transferred from Tokyo to Okinawa, Teruaki meets a girl named Hina Kyan, whom he finds himself drawn to. However, a barrier arises as he struggles to understand Hina's Okinawan dialect. This dialect difference serves as both a comedic and crucial element in the narrative. Assistance with this linguistic hurdle comes from Kana Higa, a friend of Hina's who harbors a hidden affection for Teruaki.

The manga debuted in January 2020 on the website Kurage Bunch, a platform under Shinchosha. Since then, the manga has seen steady growth, with its first compiled volume released in July 2020. The upcoming seventh volume is scheduled for release on July 7.
