On behalf of the Cologne City Council and the Mayor, the Chairman of the Cultural Committee, Dr. Lothar Lemper, today announced the winners of the 6th MangaMagie talent competition at the Historic City Hall of the cathedral city. In this competition, 886 participants from all over Germany applied for the main prizes in two age groups with an eight-page manga.

The winner of the 12-17 age group (= €500) was Julia Kutsch (16 years old, left) from Petersberg (near Fulda) with her manga "Mademoiselle Clafoutis," in which she demonstrates that even mysterious events can motivate one to attend school... Second place went to Natalia Schiller (17 years old) from Landsberg/Lech, and third place to Laura Fernandez Exposito (16 years old) from Lahnau.

The first place in the 18-26 age group (= €1000) was awarded to the collaborative work "Escape Ade" by 22-year-old Annelie Kretzschmar from Berlin and 19-year-old Maren Marmulla from Dortmund. Their manga revolves around a mysterious boarding school, various sinister figures, and what happens when imagination runs wild... Second and third places were secured by Anke Grunwald (19 years old) from Leipzig and Luisa Velontrova (19 years old) from Luckenwalde, respectively.

The jury also selected additional winners of non-cash prizes:
