The anime adaptation of Igarashi Masakuni's manga Mattaku Saikin no Tantei tokitara begins its broadcast on July 1. Simultaneously, a final promotional video and the theme songs were revealed.

The story follows the aging detective Nagumo Keiichirō (voice: Suwabe Jūni), who was once famous as the Student Detective. His monotonous daily life changes when the aspiring young detective Mashiro (voice: Hanazawa Kana) unexpectedly appears as his assistant. The unusual duo solves cases together.
