The production of Doga Kobo's original TV series "Mebius Dust" has announced its official start date for July 2026. The project, which emerged from the "Project ANIMA" initiative, is based on the award-winning original work by Hajime Shinagawa in the "Kids/Game Anime" category. The story revolves around the extraordinary lives of teenagers in a working-class neighborhood.

At the same time, the main voice cast was introduced. Yuto Takenaka lends his voice to the protagonist Araki, a reserved high school student. Nene Hieda voices his classmate and sister Stella, while Haruka Sato will be heard as Olga, the mutual friend of the two. Meanwhile, opening material for the first episode was released, showing Araki's group engaged in an seemingly ordinary yet highly mysterious flag game.

The opening theme is the song "Mebius" by singer Leo Ieiri, whose digital release is planned for June 3 – before the start of the TV broadcast. The single cover features a special illustration of the main character Araki. Comments from those involved show great anticipation: Takenaka describes the series as a story full of action and likable characters who also show human weaknesses. Nene Hieda looks forward to being part of this original universe, and Haruka Sato emphasizes the energetic and caring nature of her character Olga.

Leo Ieiri herself commented that she was inspired by the protagonist's development, leading to the lyrics "Are you ready to be yourself?" Director Taro Iwasaki and series writer Yoriko Tomita also shared their thoughts. Tomita revealed that she thoroughly researched the setting in Katsushika, Tokyo, and incorporated real locations like Mizumoto, Kanamachi, and Shinkoiwa into the script. Hajime Shinagawa, creator of the original work, expressed being overwhelmed by the development of his work by professionals.

"Mebius Dust" is expected to be a completed series with a length of one season (one cour).
