The main characters in the anime will be voiced by Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Hikaru), Tomokazu Sugita (Alma), Yu Shimamura (Aki), Romi Park (Kagami), and Yūichi Nakamura (Fist).

The original creator of the project, Sae Okamoto, is directing the anime at TriF Studio, an up-and-coming company based in Fukuoka. Yasuhiro Nakanishi from the same studio is working on the series' scripts. Character design is handled by Terumi Nishi and Yoko Uchida, while Nurikabe is responsible for the design and concept art of Mecha-Ude. A musical trio consisting of Hiroyuki Sawano, Kohta Yamamoto, and DAIKI from AWSM is composing the soundtrack.

The supervisory and production team includes Hiroshi Matsuyama from CyberConnect2 as general supervisor, Shūichi Asō from TriF Studio as animation producer, and Tetsuya Kinoshita from Pony Canyon as producer.

A pilot anime video for this project was released in 2019, and an English dub was also made available. The anime features opening and ending theme songs by Eve ("Ambivalent") and AZLiGHTZ ("Alone"), respectively.

The project's realization was partly made possible by successful crowdfunding efforts on the Kickstarter and Campfire platforms, which exceeded the original goal and raised 67,918 and approximately 44,000, respectively.

The story of "Mecha-Ude" revolves around Kitakagami City, where sentient mechanical beings known as Mecha-Ude attach themselves to human limbs. The plot thickens when middle school student Hikaru unknowingly activates a Mecha-Ude named Alma, setting off a chain of events involving secret organizations, corporate assassins, and the search for the truth about Alma's origins.
