The MF Ghost manga, written by Shuuichi Shigeno, was first serialized in September 2017 in Kodansha's Young Magazine. The series is currently published in Japan with 15 collected volumes. The story is set in the same universe as Initial D and features some of the same characters, including Takumi Fujiwara and Ryosuke Takahashi. The story takes place in the 2020s, when most cars in Japan are autonomous, and follows Kanata Livington, a driver with a British mother and Japanese father, who comes to his parents' homeland after graduating at the top of his class from the British Royal Donington Racing School. Livington participates in MFG races under the pseudonym Kanata Katagiri; the MFG is an organization founded by Ryosuke Takahashi that conducts street races with internal combustion engine cars.
