Good news for fans of the chaotic love fairies: The manga series "Mirmo de Pon!" (also known as "Mirmo Zibang!" in English) is getting a sequel. The new series titled "Mirmo de Pon! New" (Japanese: ミルモでポン!にゅ~) launched on March 3, 2026, in the April issue of Shogakukan's "Ciao" magazine.

The story of the original series revolved around student Kaede Minami, who one day finds a magical cup from which the mischievous love fairy prince Mirmo emerges. Together they experience many adventures, while Mirmo is actually supposed to help Kaede with her love for her classmate. The series ran from 2001 to 2005 in "Ciao" magazine and was later adapted into a successful anime TV series with 172 episodes.

In the new storyline, Mirmo returns to the fairy world after his training in the human world and enjoys his fulfilling life. However, the idyll is abruptly disrupted when a mysterious black cloud appears over the fairy world and attacks the fairies. In the chaos, Mirmo's wife Rirumu is kidnapped. Together with his rival Yashichi and his little brother Murumo, Mirmo sets out to rescue her and uncover the secret of the black cloud.

The return of the series marks the first new chapter of the manga series in 21 years. Alongside the new "Mirmo de Pon!" adventure, two other new series also launched in the same "Ciao" issue: "∞Otona Mode" by Hasumi Fujita and "No. 99" by Mia Matoma.
