Mix Season 2 - Episode 11

Episode 11 begins with a lively scene where a local vendor sells his freshly fried croquettes and humorously tries to attract customers. He chats with a young boy who claims to have been sent by God to support the local vendors. This leads to a transition to Meisei High School, which is remembered as the winner of the 68th Koshien National High School Tournament.

Later in the episode, the high school students discuss their experiences with baseball, their individual strengths, and their relationship as step-siblings. Otomi Tachibana reflects on how her life would have turned out if her father had not remarried and her stepbrothers had not entered her life.

In the middle of the episode, a famous novelist named Nagisa Tsukikage, who happens to be Haruka’s mother, interviews the step-siblings. She is searching for inspiration for her high school baseball series. During the conversation, it becomes apparent that the family structure of the protagonist in her story mirrors the real-life family structure of the step-siblings.

Toward the end of the episode, Haruka slaps a man she is walking with, prompting her mother to wonder if she has strong feelings for him. A surprising revelation then comes to light when it turns out that Senbongi was the one who accidentally ended the baseball careers of Souichirou and Otomi’s biological father during a past game.

Back at home, the two step-siblings discover a script for the cultural festival in their club room. They express their frustration about the long waiting lines and consider quitting. However, their father, the film club advisor, has already committed them to the project.

The episode ends with a nostalgic look at the past and the present, focusing on Meiji Jingu Stadium and the young baseball players’ pursuit of their goal: the Koshien tournament.
