Kaito Takagi has been trapped on the first floor of a dungeon for two years, tirelessly hunting slimes to gain experience. His goal is to defeat the thousandth slime. One day, he finds a rare golden slime. However, to his disappointment, this victory does not grant him a level-up. Instead, Kaito discovers a servant card as a drop item. This card summons a valkyrie named Sylphy. Kaito knows the potential value of rare servant cards and considers selling it for supposedly one billion yen. But curiosity wins out, and he decides to summon Sylphy.

Despite the potential financial loss, Kaito is impressed by her strength. Sylphy's combat stats are many times higher than his own, and she possesses the ability to detect slimes, making her a valuable ally.

With Sylphy's help, Kaito quickly defeats more slimes and finally reaches Level 4. His new ability, "Slime Hunter," only boosts his stats when fighting slimes, but this does not discourage him. However, Sylphy's need to consume magical cores to maintain her strength poses a challenge, as it means they gain no net profit from their battles.

Encouraged by his success and Sylphy's abilities, Kaito decides to enter the dungeon's second floor. Inspired by the legendary explorer Captain Katsuragi, Kaito dreams of unraveling the dungeon's secrets and becoming a hero.
