Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji - Episode 2

In Episode 2 of "Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji," Himari Momochi continues to adjust to life in the Momochi House, which she inherited from her deceased parents. The house, inhabited by various Ayakashi (spirits), is in a chaotic state.

Himari learns more about her housemates: Yukari, a Mizuchi Ayakashi; Ise, a Shojo Ayakashi; and Aoi, a mysterious boy who can transform into Nue, the Omamori-sama. Although he is the rightful owner of the house, Himari discovers that Aoi is regarded as its master.

One morning, Himari finds Aoi in her bed, claiming he was cold. This incident leads to tension as Himari questions Aoi's motives and age. Later, the house appears tidier than usual, and Yukari explains that they previously left it messy to deter Himari. Ise bluntly tells her they want to get rid of her, but Yukari hints that they will tolerate her presence for now.

Himari asserts her ownership and demands rent from Aoi, only to find out he has neither money nor a source of income. The house seems to sustain itself, as fire yokai provide light and spontaneous water sources appear, while food mysteriously materializes in the kitchen.

When Himari suggests Aoi get a part-time job, Ise reacts fiercely and shows her a pot of gold as payment. This causes an uproar, and Himari unknowingly uses her authority over the house to send the gold away.

Later, Himari realizes her authority is limited—she can only command the Ayakashi to leave the house. Still, she takes it as proof that the house acknowledges her as its owner.

That night, Himari reflects on her unanswered questions about her parents and Aoi's mysterious nature. She then has a strange encounter with an ancient tree Ayakashi, who offers her a fruit to heal Aoi. However, the Ayakashi turns hostile and tries to claim her soul. Aoi, transformed into Nue, rescues Himari with Yukari and Ise's help.

Aoi explains to Himari how he became Nue and the Omamori-sama of the Momochi House. He came to the house years ago and accidentally broke a seal, which led to him being chosen as the house's master due to his suitability and the absence of a true owner. Aoi reveals that if Himari had arrived first, she might have been chosen as the Omamori-sama instead. Himari learns that Aoi has been in the house since he was ten and can no longer leave.

During their conversation, Aoi brushes off Himari's concern for his well-being and the strange things he said earlier. Himari begins to realize that Aoi often withholds the truth.

The next day, Himari meets Nachi, a teacher at her new school, who advises her to make decisions and protect what she doesn’t want to lose. Inspired, Himari decides to stay in the Momochi House to find a way to free Aoi and learn more about her parents.

Meanwhile, Yukari and Ise discuss the effects of Himari's presence in the house and their role as Aoi's Shikigami. They express their determination to protect Aoi and seem to discourage Himari from interfering.

Later, Himari returns to the Momochi House with supplies and declares that she will stay and help Aoi. She promises to find a way to free him from his role as Omamori-sama. Aoi welcomes her warmly, and Himari begins to feel more at home in the Momochi House despite the challenges and mysteries that lie ahead.
