The anime film series "Mononoke" is getting another continuation with its third chapter, "Hebigami (Snake God)." In the third film of the trilogy, the mysterious Medicine Seller will once again take center stage, this time facing a new threat in the vicinity of a hidden shrine within the chambers of the Shogun ("Ōoku").
The first part ("Zashiki-warashi") focused on two young women struggling against social constraints, while the second part ("Umibōzu") portrayed the fates of women seeking their own path beyond societal expectations. The plot of the third part, titled Hebigami ("Snake God"), now follows another installment in this series, once again casting a critical eye on individual destinies and power dynamics within the courtly world.
Alongside the announcement, a first visual motif has already been released, showing the Medicine Seller in a gloomy atmosphere in front of the aforementioned mysterious shrine.
