With less than two months until the premiere of the final part of the "Mononoke" film trilogy, the creators have released numerous new details for "Gekijōban Mononoke Dai-San-Shō: Hebigami" (international title: "Mononoke the Movie – Chapter 3: Snake God"). These include a compelling new key visual, a second trailer, two additional voice actors, and the theme song.

The newly released key visual shows the mysterious Medicine Seller in a predominantly white environment, creating a striking contrast to the series' otherwise colorful world and establishing an almost ephemeral atmosphere.

The second trailer begins with the powerful words of the Medicine Seller: "The Mononoke must be killed." In the first half of the video, viewers are introduced to the world of "Mononoke" and the protagonist's intentions through narration. The focus is on Sachiko, the highest-ranking woman in the Great Palace (Ōoku), whose face is marked by sorrow, torment, and loneliness. The second half of the trailer flashes lines like "I wish I could have loved you more" and "I cannot make you happy," hinting at the characters' profound conflicts and raising the question of why the Mononoke has appeared in the palace.

Furthermore, two new voice actors for the final episode have been announced. Yukana, who already voiced roles in the first two films, will portray Amanotsubone – the emperor's wet nurse from 150 years ago, who played a key role in the creation of the Great Palace and its associated belief system. Eiji Takemoto, also a "Mononoke" veteran, lends his voice to Saku Mizorogi, the ancestor of Hokuto Mizorogi.

Responsible for the theme song once again is Aina The End, who also contributed the music for the first two chapters. Her new song is titled "No Epilogue" and was written specifically for the film.

"Mononoke the Movie – Chapter 3: Snake God" will be released in Japanese theaters on May 29, 2026, concluding the trilogy centered on the story of the enigmatic Medicine Seller who travels the land to defeat spirits possessed by Mononoke.
