Movie That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Azure Sea announced

The popular fantasy series Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (engl. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) is getting a new animated movie titled Gekijōban Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Sōkai no Namida-hen (engl. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: Tears of the Azure Sea). The release is scheduled for February 27, 2026. A first visual preview and a teaser trailer are now available.

The original story by author Fuse follows Rimuru Tempest and his allies after the founding of the monster nation Tempest. Invited by Elmesia, the ruler of the Magical Empire of Sarion, they spend a relaxing time on her private island. The seemingly peaceful atmosphere is disrupted by the appearance of the mysterious Yura and threatening shadows, leading to new conflicts.

The first key visual features Rimuru and Gobta at sea, accompanied by Yura and Elmesia. The accompanying slogan "Time of Awakening – Blue Prayers Connect Hearts" hints at thematic focuses. The teaser trailer offers a first glimpse of these sequences.
