The third part of the anime adaptation of Rifujin na Magonote's successful light novel «Mushoku Tensei – Jobless Reincarnation» is about to start. Broadcaster TOKYO MX has now released official preview images for the first and second episodes, which together form the so-called «Eris Training Arc».
The first episode is titled «Burn, Mad Dog» (Japanese: «Moero Kyoken»), the second «Howl, Mad Dog» («Hoero Kyoken»). The focus is on the red-haired swordswoman Eris Boreas Greyrat, who has embarked on her own journey after the events of the second season. After she was unable to protect Rudeus from the Dragon God Orsted, she left him to train under the Sword God Gal Farion. Her goal: to gain strength that will allow her to stand by Rudeus' side – and defeat Orsted.
The preview images show Eris at the holy site of swords, accompanied by Ghislaine Dedoldia as well as new characters Nina Farion (the young Sword Saint, voiced by Haruka Tomatsu) and Gal Farion himself (Tetsu Inada). Other new characters in the training arc include the North Emperor Aubert Corbet (Katsuyuki Konishi), the Water Goddess Leida Ria (Mari Yokoo), and her student Isolde Cruel (Yoko Hikasa).
The third season starts with a special broadcast: TOKYO MX will air the first two episodes on July 4, 2026, at 8:00 PM, one day before the regular broadcast start. Streaming services ABEMA and d Anime Store will also offer the episodes simultaneously from July 4. From July 5, the episodes will air in the regular program on TOKYO MX, BS11, Sun TV, and KBS Kyoto, each Sunday at midnight. Internationally, Crunchyroll will handle the simulcast from July 5.
Starting with Episode 3 (from July 12), the «Rudeus' Youth Arc» begins, which continues the story of the protagonist after the death of his father Paul. Rudeus struggles with the aftermath of the loss but finds new support from his two wives Sylphiette and Roxy, as well as his family. A theater screening of episodes 3 and 4 will take place on July 11, 2026, at selected TOHO cinemas, with a stage appearance by the voice actors.
The third season comprises 27 episodes, divided into two parts. The music is once again by Yoshiaki Fujisawa, with direction by Ryosuke Shibuya, who also handles the series concept together with Naoto Taniuchi. The opening «Ketsui no Uta» is sung by Yuiko Ohara, and the ending «Inori, Owareba» (When the Prayer Ends) is performed by Mika Nakashima.
Parallel to the anime broadcast, the mobile game «Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation – Chronicle of Echoes», developed by Asobimo, will be released this year. The light novel series has now reached a total circulation of over 18 million copies; in 2026, the anime adaptation celebrates its fifth anniversary.
