In Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 Episode 3, the relationship between Rudy and Sara takes a turbulent turn. The episode begins with Rudy developing the misconception that his grief over Eris leaving him can be alleviated through a physical relationship with Sara. He assumes that a relationship with Sara, a charming and seemingly interested person, will help him recover from his emotional turmoil.

Throughout the episode, Rudy and Sara plan to take their relationship to the next level. However, during these intimate moments, Rudy realizes that he does not love Sara the way he loved Eris, causing him to question his motives. Despite Sara's apparent willingness, Rudy finds himself unable to proceed due to his lingering feelings for Eris.

After this event, Sol, one of Rudy's companions, advises him to take things slowly. He encourages Rudy not to rush into situations he isn't ready for, whether in adventures or romance. This scene takes place as they leave the red-light district. From this point onward, however, things go downhill. Sara reacts negatively to Rudy's inability to become intimate, interpreting his hesitation as a personal insult. She reveals to him that she has no genuine feelings for him and only acted out of a sense of obligation. This revelation worsens Rudy's emotional state even further.

Feeling hurt and humiliated, Rudy vents his frustration at Sol while heavily intoxicated. Unbeknownst to him, Sara overhears his rant, further complicating the situation. When he realizes she has heard his harsh words, he immediately attempts to apologize, expressing his regret and insisting that he didn't mean what he said.

By the end of the episode, Rudy and Sara part ways.
