The main characters of the narrative are Angeline, voiced by Saori Hayami, and Belgrieve, voiced by Junichi Suwabe. Their dynamic relationship forms the core of the series, which tells a heartwarming story about an adventurer father and his strong-willed daughter.

The anime series is directed by Takeshi Mori and Naoki Murata, both collaborating with Typhoon Graphics. The script of the series is under the careful supervision of Yūichirō Momose, while Jun Shibata is responsible for the character design and chief animation direction.

As a fascinating mix of adventure and family dynamics, "My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer" tells the story of Belgrieve, an adventurer who faces hardships and injuries early in his career. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he discovers an abandoned little girl, Angeline, in the wilderness. Over the years, Angeline grows into a highly skilled adventurer who achieves S-rank status but yearns to reunite with her adoptive father.

The original web novel series, penned by MOJIKAKIYA, was introduced to the public in 2017 on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website and concluded in 2020. It was later adapted by Earth Star Entertainment into a light novel series spanning 11 volumes, ending in November 2021.
