The episode begins with Shinozaki and his younger colleague Hayakawa discussing their New Year's Eve experiences. Hayakawa feels like she has grown taller, but it turns out she is just wearing boots with thicker soles. The two then head to work, where they encounter Ishiyama from public relations, who tries to assign work directly to Hayakawa. Shinozaki's superior, Katase, intervenes and reminds Ishiyama to follow the proper chain of command.


Later, Shinozaki and Hayakawa work late into the night, and their supervisor offers to treat Hayakawa to a meal as a reward for her hard work. At the restaurant, Yutaka, Shinozaki's sister, joins them and insists on sitting next to Hayakawa, causing some awkwardness. The group discusses their love lives, and Shinozaki's manager reveals that he has never truly found love.


The next day, Shinozaki receives a message from Hayakawa asking for a photo of him. Confused and excited, he eventually learns that the message was sent by Yutaka. Despite the mix-up, Hayakawa expresses interest in having a photo of Shinozaki. They decide to take a photo together, with their manager and another colleague joining in. The episode ends with Yutaka feeling left out when she sees the group photo.
