Mysteries from Taiwan: New Manga Series "Kaijō Kitan" Launched

The first volume of the series "Kaijō Kitan ~Fushi no Shōnen to Yōneko no Tabi~" by Zhang Jiya has been released. The story transports readers to 18th-century Taiwan, an island populated by numerous mysterious spirits. At the center is the boy Shanan, who possesses a special notebook that can seal demons. He is accompanied by the demon cat Yue. Together, they traverse the island from north to south. Their goal is to break a curse of immortality that weighs upon Shanan. Always nearby is the North God, the guardian deity of Shanan's tribe. However, he seems to have no intention of protecting the boy. On their journey, the two encounter a multitude of eerie phenomena and events. The series is published in the manga magazine ASUKA, which is published by KADOKAWA.
