Young Magazine the 3rd of Kodansha has announced the fourth issue of this year on Monday. In this issue, they have announced that the manga creator Ikumi Fukuda is going to launch a manga adaptation of the Novel Nana Toshi Monogatari which is written by Yoshiki Tanaka. Ikumi is planning to launch the manga in the next issue of the magazine on April 6.
The plot of the novel is set in a near-future Earth. According to the story, there is a disaster takes place which changes the polar axis of the earth to 90 degrees. This change in the polar axis started killing all human being on the earth. The disaster on the earth is being relocated by a moon-based colony; they also establish seven cities on the earth. For better security, they also establish orbital defense system that can destroy anything which comes in the range of 500 meters. Because of a virus, everything gets killed on Moon. After this, they started establishing themselves in the seven colonies permanently.
The novel is a collection of four short stories that Tanaka (The Legend of the Galactic Heroes, The Heroic Legend of Arslan). The novel was published in Hayakawa Publishing’s SF magazine from 1986-89. The novel also adapted in OAV titled Nana Toshi Monogatari.
