On his official Twitter account, author Sarasa Nagase announced that his light novel series Akuyaku Reijō Nanode Last Boss o Katte Mimashita (I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss) will receive an anime adaptation. This announcement coincided with the release of the ninth novel in the series in Japan on October 1. Further details have not yet been revealed. Fitting the current isekai trend, it will be a TV series.
Sarasa Nagase began publishing the light novel series in 2017. Yen Press has licensed both the novels and the manga adaptation, describing the story as follows:
When her engagement to the prince is abruptly called off, details from the past life of the young noblewoman Aileen surface and help her realize that she is living in the world of one of her favorite otome games—as the heroine's greatest rival! However, her memory has more gaps than bad fan fiction... and the only certainty is that her death is all but assured if she doesn't act quickly. The hero/main love interest can't be relied on, so why not wait and see what the final boss has to say?
