"Nazotoki Wa Dinner No Ato de"-Anime adaptation of the crime scene starts in April

The successful mystery light novel series "Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de" by Tōku Higashigawa (English: The After-Dinner Mysteries) will be adapted into a TV anime starting April 4, 2024. The series, part of Fuji TV's renowned Noitamina programming block, combines elegant crime elements with humorous character dynamics.

- Studio Madhouse (Death Note, Chihayafuru) is handling the animation.

- Director: Mitsuyuki Masuhara (Nodame Cantabile).

- Character design: Oreko Tachibana (original creator), adapted by Mariko Kunisawa (Hyouka).

The story centers on Reiko Hōshō (Kana Hanazawa), a young investigator with the Kunitachi Police Department who is also the heiress to a billion-dollar conglomerate. She is supported by her sharp-witted butler Kageyama (Yūki Kaji), who solves complex cases behind her facade as a "naive rich girl." The eccentric Inspector Kazamatsuri (Mamoru Miyano), himself the scion of an automotive dynasty, rounds out the trio.

The ending theme "Rhapsody" is performed by the band BILLY BOO, whose energetic sound complements the series. A released trailer already offers glimpses of the atmospheric portrayal of Tokyo's upscale suburban setting and the sharp-tongued banter between Reiko and Kageyama.
