The production of a television series based on the story "Neko to Ryu" has been confirmed. The broadcast is planned for July 2026.

It was announced that Takehito Koyasu will voice the main role of Nekoryu, a dragon character.

The plot is a fantasy adventure that describes the unusual relationship between a dragon raised by cats, the cats themselves, and the humans in their environment. The underlying novel and comic template has reached a total circulation of over 1.2 million copies.

The direction of the series is taken over by Osing. The series concept comes from Mitsutaka Hirota. The animation is produced by OLM. Character design is handled by Rie Nishino and Chiaki Kurakazu. The musical accompaniment is composed by Yoshihiro Obata, while the sound direction is led by Noriyuki Onuma.

A first teaser video offers insights into the visual world of the series. It addresses the origin of the dragon Nekoryu, who, despite his species, was raised by cats and lives deep in a forest with them. The teaser also introduces the various cats of the forest as well as the humans who interact with Nekoryu and the cats. Takehito Koyasu provides a specially recorded narration voice for the character of Nekoryu.
