At the World Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai, the short film "Neo Atom Tanjō" ("The Birth of Neo Atom") will be showcased in the "PASONA NATUREVERSE" pavilion by the Pasona Group. The animated film was produced by Tezuka Productions as a completely new, standalone story in 3D.
The plot revolves around the rebirth of the robot Atom (Astro Boy) by the hands of Black Jack, after Atom once sacrificed his life to prevent a collision between the sun and a habitable space colony. The revived Neo Atom also takes on the role of a guide in the pavilion.
The main voice cast includes:
- Makoto Tsumura as Atom / Neo Atom
- Akio Ōtsuka as Black Jack
- Chafūrin as Professor Ochanomizu
- Ayaka Hirahara as Narrator
The short film will be exclusively screened during the Expo.
